Dernière nouvelle du front avant mon départ pour le grand nord
You have spoken about the lack of pressure and the mental lightness you experienced during rehearsals for the tour. Did any new ideas emerge?
No, which is very unusual, because until last summer, every time we got together to play, there was always new material.
Is the fact that, for now, you do not feel the need to write a new album more about your personal relationship with one another, or about a fear of damaging your discography by making something uninspired?
It is neither of those things. There simply is not an appetite at the moment.
I think everyone is just having a great time doing their own things. Our relationship is excellent.
I understand that many people are curious and want a new Radiohead album, but at the moment I genuinely cannot imagine it. I do not know how it would work.
I hope the fans have come to understand over time that Radiohead have never done anything they did not want to do, except on a few rare occasions.
When we do something, it is because we want to. We toured because we genuinely wanted to. We do not do anything for money or for our careers.
