A 'Hail to the Thief' review from Up & Coming Magazine: "Yes, Radiohead is probably the most socially aware "rock n' roll" band out there today. Yes, the title of the CD is a swipe at President Bush. Consisting of Thom Yorke, lead vocalist and frontman; Jonny Greenwood, guitar; Colin Greenwood, bass; Ed O'Brien, guitar; and Philip Selway, on drums, Radiohead's latest release makes reference to the (then, at the time of recording) impending invasion of Iraq - the band citing Bush as the Thief of Baghdad - as well as the 2000 election. To say that Radiohead is a politically motivated and socially conscious band is like saying The Beatles made a hit song or two." [read it in full]

dites moi j avais cru comprendre que httt ne faisait pas reference a bush comme on le pensait.je me trompe?

Oui car en fait ça y faisait référence mais ce qu'ils se tuaient à  dire à  l'époque de la sortie de l'album, c'est que ça y faisait AUSSI référence...
Il y a bien d'autres interprétations au titre.... et ils ne souhaitaient pas que l'on s'imagine qu'il n'y avait que cellle-ci à  cause de l'actualité.

                    En même temps ce titre vient d'un panneau dressé lors de manifestations anti-Bush, après ils peuvent dire ce qu'ils veulent mais le titre est clairement une référence directe :spamafote:

                    sur arte ils ont dit ke ctBush entres autres,mais ke ct à  tous les voleurs, tous les manipulatuers d'esprit.

non si je me  souviens bien de ce que thom a dit lors de l'interview de musique plus, le slogan "hail to the thief" date de 1880 environ. c'est le slogan detourne de "hail to the chief", phrase prononcee il me semlbe aux etats-unis lors d'une visite presidentielle dans des villes americaines (du moins dans le temps).

ca avait ete detourne lors de la visite d'un president qui avait achete tout bonnement les elections.


ca a ete repris de nos jours en effet. mais l'origine remonte a looooongtemps :)
