here we go
hello good people its sunday august 21 2005 and we're recording....... let me fill you in a little. so apart from a 3 and a half week tour to the other side of the world in april of 2004 the rest of that year was a dormant one for us
......... we needed a break ....... the end of another 3 album cycle...... they're not planned like that but thats how it seems to be. we needed to be at home with our families ....... lots of babies too. so we reconvened in mid - february and since then we've been trying to kick start the old beast ...... you don't realize once you've stopped how hard it is to regain the momentum ........ you literally get out the habit of doing it........ but often the only way to stop repeating yourself is to stop doing that thing, walk away from it ....... sometimes you have to go away in order to come back..... so here we are in the studio recording and it feels right. its only day 4, its very early days but really good things are happening .......lots of deconstructing and reassembling. we've been working on mornin' m' lud and pigsee.

final day in this session
everybodys wasted. expended i mean. energy wise i mean.
all in need of bowl of coco pops.
colins i s playing sleaz bass on mornin' mi lord..
its sounds very heavy. err phat. ..like a freight train...
'the speakers ar e cracking'
ths is the last day of the session.. we start again in a couple of weeks
good,
i need to get away,
six days straight from 11 till late is enough for an old man like me.
need energy!
i dont know. what do people write in blogs normally?
i could write about how im finding it difficult to finish lyrics.
that there are giant waves of self doubt crashing over me and if i could allieviate this with a simple pill ...
i think i would
although it is a necessary part of the procedure. but that would be dull wouldnt it?
i could write about watching V festival.. how i thought Dizzee Rascal stole it..
or ponder the imminent energy crises that awaits us even before our governments get their arse in gear over climate change.
or how amazing the sky is outside with the moon hiding behind fast moving clouds and the bats swooping close to your head.
which? hmm
i have absolutely no idea what i am talking about

Clocking on again.
We're back in the studio, and all is fun and well. Stanley's here too, or at least in the shed out back, painting again. The rats have got in and eaten all his blue paint, and there's blue rat shit everywhere: but at least he's got a good dub cd to listen to while he's working. At least, I think it's good. Let me explain.
There is loads of great music out there that you’ll never have time to find out about. I’m always saying this - boring the arse off someone about this. Partly to make me sound like I know loads of great music that they don’t, and partly to justify why I’ve never heard a note of, say, the Stooges (though I really must, I know, I know...how can I claim to be a an Iggy Pop fan if I've never even heard 'I wanna be your dog'? etc. etc.)
I often glibly add - ‘you could spend 6 months listening to just dub reggae, and it would all be worth hearing.’ I realize that sounds patronising, but I choose reggae because I know so many people who collect this kind of music and no other - which fascinates me - and because it’s mostly unknown to me. Not any more....I’ve just done it. Six solid months of nothing but Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Ken Boothe, Junior Byles, Marcia Aitkin and hundreds of others. It’s to make a compilation which may or may not ever be completed - I hope I’m not just proving a point to myself - but either way, there’s been nothing else on my ipod since April.
There’s something exciting about coming to musicians when they’re just names, when you’ve no idea who Derrick Harriott looks like, or what his reputation is - considered naff by real dub fans, maybe ? Derivative ? Or maybe ground-breaking ? I know the Stooges were ground-breaking - maybe that’s what has been putting me off. The weight of knowing already how good it’s meant to be. With this compilation, I’ve just ploughed through all these faceless names, liking things I probably shouldn’t (covers of soul songs! Spanish guitar solos!) and maybe finding nothing I like by the supposed classics (some of the very empty dub stuff is kind of....tedious) - or nothing I really like on the records I already have. Although Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry seems to me to deserve all respect he gets. His records are just magical. Ditto Linval Thompson, Sly and Robbie, and Scientist.
(Interesting how making a compilation for someone makes you listen to your music completely differently. Endless moments of 'do I really like that track, now I'm actually listening to it for someone else?' It's a great way to get rid of records that you only think you like.)
So it’s great music. If you don’t know any, it’s really worth getting into. There’s more than one speed, one rhythm, one mood - more than one gender, even, than you might suspect. Marcia Griffiths was a revelation. If I ever finish this thing, I’ll put the list up, and invite you to check it out. And disagree. "Ken Boothe ? Theat's not real reggae....Robbie Williams of his day.....might as well put 'I come from a land down-under' on... "

I Wanna Be Your Dog?" etc. etc.)
Tu aurais aussi bien pu mettre "I Come From a Land Down-Under"...
Je plaisantais, of course...

good evening
right now colin is reading that strange devarahi synth book.
stanley is hammering and making greetings cards which may or may not be for christmas.
im working on something that i think is called PAY DAY. im gonna lay the lyrics line by line on the floor and shuffle them. and im having to play gentle fingerpicking over furious beat.
ed is sick as a dog at the moment poor guy. he is feeling very sorry for himself and keeps sending us sad little texts.
in the distance there is a cloud but as im in an ok mood i can keep it away
........friends of the earth have asked me whether i would meet Tony Blair at downing street to discuss what our government is not doing about climate change..i dont know if this will ever happen for certain.... it is rattling around in the back of my mind and concerns me a lot.
i have no intention of being used by spider spin doctors to make it look like we make progress when it is just words.
id love to know what you think but i cant ask.
youd say oh ther e he goes again interfering and meddling in politics why doesnt he get on with the music and shut up.
perhaps because i feel like a hypocrit if dont do anything, and equally feel like a hypocrit if i try getting involved.
nobody wants to know. none of u s do, me included id love to forget about it like your average Times reader. wed all like it to go away. turn to to the rising sea and say come back later im busy right now.
Blair has been uttering nonsense lately about kyoto and such, real la la stuff... looks like th eamerican right have finally eaten his mind... blah blah why on earth would i meet this man? o r perhaps that is exactly why i should. but i dont have powers of persuasion, i just have temper and an acid tongue.
trust me i find this as dull as you do... politics is poison..
what do yout think i should do?
speak to you later
Thom
storm coming
satellite not working
rain rattling down the chimney. windows buffering.
not got th e words to PAY DAY yet.
but today i got the words to BURN THE (WHITE?) WITCH.. thats a good un. jonny has losts of orchestration tasks now including this..('oh good' says he exiting stage left)
blackboard filling up with ideas. lots of things happening all over the studio at once.. which i always like.. although i keep having to remind myself to sit down occasionally.
night night
Thom
M'enfin

i wont do it if i think i have to compromise what i might say at the meeting or afterwards.
ill simply refuse. im going as me to say what i think....
if it smells then im f****ng out of there..
i also wont do it if i think they ar e gonna make a big deal out of it,
that weve reached an agreement or other shit or spin it.
i dont think thats in FOEs or anyone elses interest(apart form theirs).

two days off, sunday spent dragging a puppy around Abingdon.
back tomorrow, after a full on week of recording a song a day, some not even on the blackboard....one of jonny's tunes, packing a lot in 2 mins 45 seconds! Spent weekend agreeing with Nick Cohen, hoping Simon Starling would win the Turner, listening to new modeselektor album, and waiting to get the boards of canada and pharrell williams tomorrow. Exciting talk of shows next year; it's good to have a plot. Another week ahead in the studio, then more in December. I'll keep you posted this week with more news and wonky shots, so wish us luck!

bananas
it is the end of our two week session.
we re splitting up its all shit. were washed. up. finished.
only kidding.
it was fun. some of it has been really great fun. and there were moments that stick in my head when i went 'TUNE!' 'TuNE!'
like tonight listening through
' house of cards.'
its us, no denying it. bu t thats cool.. i like it. it has its own power. cant fight that i suppose. although i see it as my duty to try.
i will dread listening to it all after we have left in the real world. i always dread that. id much rather start something new and forget. but right now...is good.
guess thats why the blackboard is full.

the dogs have gone to bed
friday night ....... the end of a two week session .......riffs and fragments of the songs going round my head ...... its been great .... its always difficult to judge right now but i think we may have got 'bodysnatchers' ...... had a couple of sticky days at the beginning of the week but saw it through .... on a roll now ..... lots of stuff to be done yet, but so far so good.... the studio is fab, its so good to play in and listen.... you know what works and what doesn't ..... the only problem is you will never hear what you do sound so good as the sound system is outrageous .... ths studio also sits on the edge of some beautiful woodland .... had a great ray mears moment in the wood today on a solitary walk when i came across some deer and hid behind a tree to watch them for a few minutes ...... time to head off i'm really tired.... goodnight.

Radiohead work on 'lost 'OK Computer' song'
The band continue recording the follow-up to 'Hail To The Thief'
Radiohead are working on a song in the studio that they've not been able to get right for almost ten years.
The track, 'Nude' was played on the tour to promote 'OK Computer', but never properly recorded.
Bootleg versions of the track have circulated amongst fans over the internet, but a full studio version has never surfaced.
Now singer Thom Yorke has now confirmed it's set for inclusion on their new album, which is due this year.
Writing online, he said: "Jonny (Greenwood) is hastily writing out scores for a string quartet who are coming tommorow. Right now we are working on 'Nude', it sounds beautiful, as far as I can tell."
An early version of the song appears on the band documentary 'Meeting People Is Easy'.
Radiohead are in the studio with producer Mark 'Spike' Stent. The group are hoping to release new material in early summer, with the album to follow later in the year.
They're tipped to play at August's V Festival - a date which will be preceded by a low-key tour of the UK.
Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood are also confirmed to appear at London KOKO at a benefit concert for Friends Of The Earth (May 1).

It's been a while, but Jonny has posted on the official message board again. Jonny said: "We're just finishing (Famous Last W's) Bodysnatchers. ather good so far....better not turn my guitar down."
Jonny couldn't say which other shows Radiohead are playing besides Bonnaroo. Jonny: "Bonaroo, and after/before that we are/aren't playing at.... I'm contractually forbibben. All over, though.

ahlala ils copient Sigur ros :sarcastic:

Cancelled 2nd Night Show in Amsterdam
We're very sorry, but because of a sudden family bereavement, we have had to cancel tonight's second concert at the Heineken Concert Hall. We are trying to re - schedule the concert in Amsterdam later on in the summer. We will keep you posted here, and in the usual media. We are especially sorry to those people who have made a special effort to travel and see us play. At least it's been a sunny day here, and there's no finer place in the sun than Amsterdam.

Thanks
Thanks to everyone for their messages of condolence and support over the past few weeks - they really have been a great help. I have also really appreciated the respectful silence on DAS.... well, it's either that or nobody's had anything to say for a week and a half which, in my experience, is unlikely. See you in America.

this'll make you laugh.
i was told yesterday that one of the daughters of the president came to NY show 2.
we were playing THe Tourist at the end of the show.. and yyes we did wander what the shuffling manhandling fighting was in the distance of the audience.
turns out it was her 6 bodyguards clearing the way for the first daughters exit. and some pour soul objected at being manhandled by the secret service. i think i would have to.
infact if i had known all this my objections would have been more forthright and extensive...if you know what i mean. which is perhaps why our lot chose not to tell me who was in the building before we went on. probably a good idea.
hmm

"Why do I bother with these morons? Because they are destroying the movements which some of us have spent a long time trying to build. Those of us who believe that the crucial global issues – climate change, the Iraq war, nuclear proliferation, inequality – are insufficiently debated in parliament or congress; that corporate power stands too heavily on democracy; that war criminals, cheats and liars are not being held to account, have invested our efforts in movements outside the mainstream political process. These, we are now discovering, are peculiarly susceptible to this epidemic of gibberish.
The obvious corollorary to the belief that the Bush administration is all-powerful is that the rest of us are completely powerless. In fact it seems to me that the purpose of the “9/11 truth movement” is to be powerless. The omnipotence of the Bush regime is the coward’s fantasy, an excuse for inaction used by those who don’t have the stomach to engage in real political fights."

Le lp7 arrive bientot, je le sens.

WERE OK YOU'RE OK
Appeared on March 23rd of 2007
This one is a quicktime clip consisting of a line from 'Nude' "You paint yourself white and fill up with noise" accompanied by an eerie mantra humming in the background. This is the first audio of any kind coming out of Hodiau Direkton.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/vlwy54 (http://www.sendspace.com/file/vlwy54): here is a direct link if you really must hear it. Or just go to the official Radiohead site and find it but the link I gave you is worth it since you're better off hearing it in completion rather than stuttering through lags and audio misinformation.

fin mars 2003, hail to the thief était quasi fini, puisqu'on l'avait déja tous téléchargé...il est sorti début juin.

:jap:

Friends of the earth
this is for uk peeps only im afraid.
the british government is drawing up a climate change law..
committing us to reducing our co2 emmissions.
this is something i am helping friends of the earth uk campaign for.
(as well as working long hours with radiohead on these songs we've got which you may know about.)
if you got involved as well then thank you.. on behalf of us all...
(it is amazing what letters still can do.)
anyway
as is always the way..the bill at the moment is not quite what it should be, to say the least
as they seem to have forgotten about planes and ships..amongst other things.
there is a lot of column inches and internet space and conversation taking place about all this as you know on the subject of climate change.
and it all runs the risk of reaching saturation point. except that it is potentially the most terrifying problem the human world has ever had to face..
doing our bit.. flying less, etc etc (all those column inches) will not really have any effect unless the uk as a whole decides without excuses and backtracking that we want to really do something..
unless all of us accepts a law that we all must adhere to...
that has the desired effect rather than creating an illusion..
so if you can be arsed you can take part in saying what you think the bill should contain
this is a public consultation, as the government calls it
(except when it's about nuclear power..)
there is a page on the FOe website at the moment where you can do this
HERE!
radiohead starts up again having finally caught up on some sleep next week
i have a cd of what we;'ve been up to...
and you haven't.
yet.
(sorry)
i must listen to it, after taking an ear break
that always makes me nervous
hope you're well
yours
blair, chris: mastering and digital editing on pablo honey, the bends, ok computer & kid a, @ abbey road studios

Yes I know its been a while ..... but we've been working on this album for a while ...... BUT WE ARE NEARLY THERE .....

OPEN PICK
ET DES CORDES
RHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
cordes et minimalisme ça me va bien

Ca me ferai peut-etre aimer la Bd .

:aie2:
things are quiet here right now.
we are unable to explain.
nothing can be revealed.
we have not disappeared.
merely become invisible.
for a short time. we may be hiding in the woods.
meanwhile thebigask has set up an online video march
to hastle the government to commit to cutting our CO2.
which is a good idea i think. and you can post your own message.
so i'll have to do that. once i've found me camera.
ever since Gordon Brown became PM they have gone a little quiet on this subject.
i do hope rumours of Mr Brown lack of interest in climate change aren't true.
we have don't have time such crap.

Use in cryptography
In cryptography, deniable encryption may be used to describe steganographic techniques, where the very existence of an encrypted file or message is deniable in the sense that an adversary cannot prove that an encrypted message exists.
Some systems take this further, such as MaruTukku and (to a lesser extent) FreeOTFE/TrueCrypt which nest encrypted data. The owner of the encrypted data may reveal one or more keys to decrypt certain information from it, and then deny that more keys exist, a statement which cannot be disproven without knowledge of all encryption keys involved. The existence of "hidden" data within the overtly encrypted data is then deniable in the sense that it cannot be proven to exist.
On obtient donc:wow:

its a relief to us all that finally its out there.
its been a mad couple of weeks.. as i'm sure you can imagine...
"I love pop music to death..... Most great composers rely on folk music. I rely on pop music.
I'm not saying I'm a great composer or that pop music is folk music. There's a whole endless thing going on out there.

i heard today that the british prime minister, gordon his name is, has finally stopped faffing about and is talking about climate change as the inconvenient truth that it is,
which ,being as i am involved with friends of the earth and the campaign to get a good law passed that really commits in the uk us to DO SOMETHINGfast, is (at least on the surface) a Good thing..
for the sake of all the people who have been helping in the campaign and have written to their letters i do hope that this is genuinely meant ....
up until now there has been not a lot of not a lot..
if there is a law then we all have to act. imagine if there was a similair law in the US? in AUstralia? in Japan? then there would be a giant ball rolling.. perhaps this one would be going in the right direction..

Gordon Brown's pledge to make Britain a world leader in tackling climate change has been welcomed today by Friends of the Earth. But the environmental campaign group said his words must now be matched by urgent action to cut UK carbon dioxide emissions, which have risen since Labour came to power. This must include a comprehensive review of all Government policies and strengthening its proposals for a new law to cut UK carbon dioxide emissions, which is due to be discussed by Parliament next week.
"After a summer of lobbying, wriggling, and confusion, the?Government's apparent change of heart on renewable power is fantastic news, but will only be credible if new policies emerge to actually meet targets. Britain lags a long way behind most of our European neighbours on renewable power, despite having the greatest wind, wave and tidal resource in Europe. We should be able to contribute our fair share of the EU-wide renewable?energy commitment and source at least 20% of our energy from?renewables by 2020."
Friends of the Earth is calling on the Government to take urgent action on climate change including:
Strengthening proposals for a new climate change law.
Following a campaign led by Friends of the Earth through The Big Ask climate campaign (www.thebigask.com), the Government has agreed to introduce a new law to tackle climate change. This will be the first national legislation anywhere in the world to set legally-binding targets for cutting carbon dioxide emissions. Friends of the Earth says it must be strengthened to ensure a cut of at least 80 per cent in emissions by 2050, include pollution from Britain's share of international aviation and shipping, and set annual milestones to ensure that we stay on track. The bill is due to be discussed in Parliament next week and could be law within six months.

2. Boosting renewables, including
* Expanding offshore wind tenfold by 2020
* Rolling out CHP and micro-renewables to homes, community and?public buildings - through grants, public procurement and a feed-in?tariff to guarantee a premium price for the electricity they?generate.?
* Backing projects to demonstrate the potential of promising?technologies such as vertical axis offshore wind turbines and tidal?lagoons
* Increasing by tenfold research and development into new? technologies - such as wave, solar, and energy storage, and?transmission technologies, such as hydrogen fuel cells and advanced?cables.
* Championing major international renewable infrastructure?projects - including concentrated solar power (CSP) in North?Africa; offshore wind in the North Sea; and an extensive high- voltage direct current grid so that renewable electricity can be distributed across Europe and?surrounding regions.
3. Surface transport
The Government must tackle climate change from transport. This should include scrapping motorway-widening schemes and increasing investment in public transport and other low-carbon transport solutions.
4. Aviation
Plans to allow airports to expand should be frozen and more must be done to make the cost of flying reflect the environmental damage that it causes. Greater investment in rail could make this an attractive alternative to short-haul flights.
5. Budgetary measures are required to make it easier and cheaper for people to go green
yip.

The End of The Beginning
Hello Everyone,
The download area that is “In Rainbows” will be shutting its doors on the 10th December 2007.
A big thank you to everyone who came and downloaded the music. It’s been the most positive thing we’ve done and we hope you shared the experience with others.
The discbox will still be available from the w.a.s.t.e store here until they have all gone. We then have no plans to make further stock.
For those of you who wish to buy In Rainbows in the usual way, it will be available on CD/Vinyl and download from traditional outlets from the 31st December 2007.
The record will be released by TBD Records in North America and XL Recordings for the rest of the world.
Thanks for everything.

Et ça veut dire que la box sera un collector :mwarf:i hope i have two
Best Foot Forward
Earlier this year we asked an Oxford company called Best Foot Forward to look at the carbon and ecological footprints of two recent Radiohead tours, with the aim of reducing our carbon output. Touring is very important to us, a large part of the joy and passion of what we do, and we are committed to finding more responsible ways of doing it.
We asked Best Foot Forward to compare two different kinds of tours we’ve done recently in America: an out of town ‘big gig’/amphitheatre tour, and a smaller theatre tour in city centres.
We wanted to find out which kind of touring has the lowest carbon and environmental impact ‘per person entertained‘. We had lots of information to work out our own carbon footprint, but we had to make some assumptions about the fans’ footprint; how they travel, and how much beer they drink when they get to the show!
This is what we found:
Fan travel and consumption made up 86% of the Theatre tour and 97% of the Amphitheatre tour.
Of the band’s touring impact – Travel and energy use accounted for 60% (Theatre tour) and ~40% (Amphitheatre tour)
International travel accounted for a further 34 – 40% of impacts.
Short of no-one coming to see us, we’d like to share with our fans some ways of reducing this – our early research suggests that how you come to our shows can significantly reduce the tour’s carbon output. To help achieve better results, we’re trying to play as many shows as possible in city centres because of their better transport links. From the Best Foot Forward report, the rough figures below give you an example of how much of a difference you can make.
For the big shows:
If average car occupancy increased from 2.2 to 3, the whole tour’s overall CO2 output would be reduced by 22%.
Halving fans flying would reduce overall CO2 consumption by 5%
And if 10% of car users travelled by bus it would reduce CO2 emissions by 7%
Where we can, we will be reducing our own carbon emissions, starting with sea freighting our gear. It’s 93% more efficient than air freighting, and if we ship our equipment to and from America, we save 47 tonnes of CO2. We will be doing this for touring in 2008, along with travelling as little as possible by air, avoiding chartered flights, and investigating more efficient road and rail transportation.
You can download the whole report here.
We’re aware that this study is tentative and partial, but it’s a start, and we’ll share with you more information as we get it.
Love
Colin

Rained on in Washington again
To everyone who made it, and put up with the torrents on the lawn, and came early to catch the Liars and our show, thank you so much for braving the deluge. I hope you heard what you came for, the music and lights diverting you from the wet. We got out of there around three am, and the pic shows Jonny waiting in the loading bay whilst the water streams across the tarmac. We've had floods at Bull Creek, lightning at the RFK stadium, so there must be some kind of Biblical fix between us and DC. Frogs next time?

Santa Barbara:love:
Hello! To celebrate the end of a brilliant tour, we're going to webcast the last show here in America. We'll be playing live in Santa Barbara, at the Bowl. It's one of our favourite places to play; I think we've ended tours there before, once even playing a cover of ' cinnamon girl '. It's not too big, in fact it's very intimate, a small arena with a dirt floor, set in pretty countryside. It should be a special night, for lots of reasons, and we're going to try and share as much of it as we can on the webcast. Nigel, our producer, will be helping out getting it to you, so if it goes wrong....It's live!
Thank you so much to everyone who's come and seen us this year; it has truly been the most special and exciting tour for all of us.
Webcast details to follow...

To celebrate the end of a brilliant tour, ouais sinon ca va les chevilles ? :o
Mes titres favoris : Arpeggi-Nude-Bodysnatchers-Go slowly- Last flowers-Faust arp - Bangers & mash et Vidéotape.

Ed & Philip will join the new Seven Worlds Collide project
Ed and Philip will rejoin Neil Finn in a follow up to the acclaimed Seven Worlds Collide project at the end of the year. Together with members of the original line up and other artists, the ‘supergroup’ will record an album of entirely new material in support of international development organisation Oxfam.
The original Seven Worlds Collide line up was Neil Finn, Ed O’Brien, Phil Selway, guitar supremo Johnny Marr, Soul Coughing bassist Sebastian Steinberg, songwriter and violinist Lisa Germano, and Liam Finn. Other artists joining the project include Jeff Tweedy, John Stirrat, Glenn Kotche and Pat Sansone from Wilco, and New Zealand songwriters Bic Runga and Don McGlashan. Behind the mixing desk will be master recording engineer Jim Scott. More names will be added to the lineup in the coming weeks.
The album will be recorded over the next few months in Auckland and is due for release in 2009. Like its predecessor, the project will also see a series of concerts featuring many of the artists included in the line up. The shows will take place in Auckland early in the New Year. Details will be announced soon.
Neil Finn said “Seven years ago I invited a few friends and fellow musicians to do a special series of concerts in New Zealand under the banner Seven Worlds Collide. The concerts were an amazing experience for all of us and we are delighted to have found an opportunity to gather again, this time to expand the concept and the line up too. What will make these sessions particularly meaningful is that all the proceeds of this recording will go to support the continuing great work of Oxfam International.”
Et le LP8 alors ?! :wow:il manquerait les meilleurs

Who the fuck let that knob head Justin Hawkins play guitar. When you've got Johnny Greenwood you don't need anyone else.
Morrissey talking about the first Do They Know It's Christmas?: 'I'm not afraid to say that I think Band Aid was diabolical. Or to say that I think Bob Geldof is a nauseating character. Many people find that very unsettling, but I'll say it as loud as anyone wants me to. In the first instance the record itself was absolutely tuneless. One can have great concern for the people of Ethiopia, but it's another thing to inflict daily torture on the people of England. It was an awful record considering the mass of talent involved. And it wasn't done shyly it was the most self-righteous platform ever in the history of popular music.

Hey what are you doing tomorrow night?

We're in the middle of recording at the moment, so you'll be catching us on the fly.... but if you're up for it, then we are too.
See you then
Oups!
Un nouveau look pour Dead air space ... :wow:

Comme Hail to the Thief. Comme OK Computer.
Et une énorme tournée estivale.
Et on meurt tous. Et on jouit.

Japan
for a while I have felt the need to write something for our fans, I am very fond of japan and feel awful seeing what has happened since the earthquake and tsunami...
my friends in Tokyo tell me there are now big powercuts and though the city is still functioning there is a lot of re-evaluating going on. Tokyo the temple to light and power is something different now.
that such a fast paced hyperkinetic place can be brought to it's knees is shocking even before the worries over radiation from the reactors.
it is hard to imagine how it must feel
to have witnessed such devastation by mother nature and so many dead .. and. I think a lot about the rest of japan and how it will rebuild itself. how much of a struggle and a leap of faith the Japanese will have to make.
I'm told that in the rest of japan life is carrying on almost normally but rebuilding what has been lost is going to be a massive job.
I hope that the Japanese people we have met over the years are not freaking out, and I like to think the way japan comes out of this will be an inspiration to us all.

Our The King of Limbs - From The Basement programme is going to be aired in the USA this Saturday 23rd July at 9pm on Palladia, followed by a second showing on MTV2 the following Saturday.
Apologies for the delay getting From The Basement shown in the UK: the original broadcaster decided not to show it, but we are working on it getting it shown on another channel.
thanks for reading this. more stuff about music laterrrrr :et: :nico54:
