Radiohead, Rock en Seine, Paris, France.
This was the only festival show in the present series where we had do both the load in and show on the sane day. No one was particularly enthusiastic about it! We arrived on site at 8am and were faced with the worst breakfast up to date. As soon as the lighting trusses were up in the air we started our set up. We had until 1 in the afternoon to complete our task. We only just made it on time! For some reason it all seemed to take forever and for the first time in ages tempers seemed on the edge of flaring up! I spent the next hour putting up all the antennae and testing the wireless systems. I thought today would be the day that I would have wireless problems, being in the centre of the city and not being shielded by a venue, however there were no problems, on neither the first test and then the second which I do a couple of hours later. Most of the crew went back to bed on the tour bus to try and get come energy for the show.
By the time the change over from Becks show to ours we were back to our usual selves, the adrenalin had kicked in. We had 45 minutes to complete the task and we were ready and tested well in time.
Again a great show. However I had a slight problem with the microphone mounted on the inside of the lid of the piano, it just didnt sound quite the same as usual, this is the major source of the piano sound I put into Thoms in-ear mix, and there was some low end feedback from the FOH boys at the same time. Anyway, when Thom plays the piano it is very difficult for him to signal anything to me as I am looking at the back of his head. A flick of the head means vocals up, a tap on the piano and a flick of the head means piano up, sometimes he talks to me very quietly. On this occasion he seemed to do all them at once! He eventually turned around and mouthed piano down. Phew, had me all confused then!
The rain showers that had been happening all day stopped for the show, either that or I didnt notice them! We had set the whole show back an additional 6 feet from the front of the stage, mainly on the local promoters advice, for once we had the depth of stage to allow this to happen.

du moins j'espère qu'ils repasseront à un moment où je puisse aller les voir :'( . (mais dans le sud ça serait plus pratique en effet :D )
